The photographs - mostly exterior site shots - of the actual home are more gratifying for the reader than if they were presented without Bertman’s context. His narrative incorporates modifications which are then reflected in altered drawings. It is a natural process; one need not be an architect to appreciate it.The second half of the book seems like a bonus containing 13 additional projects. It will be a joy to those who relish seeing plans (and not just the 1st floor) of completed homes. Several interior photographs are shown, but the emphasis is on the exteriors. Each home is described briefly, along with thoughtfully specific tips to keep the design human-oriented.Very nice presentation, WITH plans, from a dweller’s point of view.
